Abruzzo is famous for its hearty traditional dishes. Your cooking classes will take place at a local family’s home. Your hosts will teach you how to make different types of pasta from scratch, polpette meatballs or pallotte (“the poor meatballs” made with cheese and bread crumbs), biscotti and other local specialities. A Cooking with locals experience is not a formal cooking class, so there is no rigid structure. It is an opportunity to immerse in the atmosphere of a family kitchen, chat with the hosts, in some cases see their farm, eat together and learn family recipes.
After the cooking class, you will have a big lunch eating what you cooked with other tasty additions.
If you want to try your hand at more elaborate local dishes, we can also organise an advanced level class.
