Fancy a short break sampling delicious Abruzzese cuisine and enjoying local wine? Come on our foodie breaks in Abruzzo!
What is included:
Two nights’ B&B accommodation in a small village;
Breakfast: freshly baked cakes with local ancient grain flour, home-made jams, locally-grown fruit;
Dinner in a rural restaurant where you will taste typical dishes. Be prepared for a feast: delicious starters, generous pasta dishes, meat, dessert, wine and home-made liqueurs, – all made with local ingredients;
Local wineries visit: Learn the secrets of winemaking at a renowned family-run 200-year-old wine cellar and local vineyard. You will taste 7-8 red, white, sparkling and dessert wines accompanied by local cheeses and cured meats as well as some traditional local liquors.
Cooking with locals class and lunch: Your cooking classes will take place at a local family’s home. Your hosts will teach you how to make different types of pasta from scratch, a tasty tomato-based sauce, biscotti and other local delicious specialties. After the class, you can eat what you cooked (with some other tasty additions).
Price: €515 for two people
Optional: for an extra fee you can go on a truffle hunt with a local family or visit a cheese maker to learn how sheep’s milk cheese and ricotta are made.
Foodie breaks can also be organised during week days.
